Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. It reacts with your Endocannabinoid system by targeting certain receptors to promote homeostasis in multiple systems (i.e. digestive, nervous, etc.).
The cannabis plant contains many compounds that can be extracted for use. The two most popular are THC and CBD. Unlike THC, CBD does not contain psychoactive properties that create the “high” feeling. Cannabis has been used for centuries in alternative healing and pain management practices.
There are have been extensive studies on CBD and its non-addictive properties. While the benefits of CBD are still being studied and we still have much to learn, the positive feedback continues to come pouring in.
